The Upper West hosts an Oscars Watch Party to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) on Sunday, March 4. Celebrate the Oscars while giving back to an important nonprofit.
Enjoy an Oscar ballot contest, silent auction and opportunity drawing, as well as the exquisite cuisine of The Upper West restaurant, which will contribute a percentage of all sales to LLS.
Sara Fay raises money for LLS in memory of her father, who passed away from acute myeloid leukemia. This will be the fifth year she has co-hosted the event at The Upper West.
Fay said she was impressed with The Upper West's amazing commitment to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society over the years.
Like many people, Cameron Iverson’s life has been affected by Leukemia and Lymphoma. “I got involved in Oscars Night at The Upper West in 2016 during my first season fundraising for LLS and training with Team In Training,” said Iverson, who was influenced by his wife’s commitment to the organization.
Fay and Iverson are co-hosting the Oscars Party with The Upper West. They are currently training for triathlons to raise awareness and funds for LLS' important research and patient programs. Over the years, Fay and Iverson have raised more than $100,000 for the cause. See image below from last year's event; Photo by Paiwei Wei
The viewing party begins at 4:30 pm (at the start of the red carpet event). Attendees are encouraged to dress for the occasion and participate in the Oscar winner prediction challenge. Prizes and additional drawings will be part of the event. There is a suggested donation of $20. The full menu will be available.
Upper West is located at 3321 Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica. For more information or to make reservations, call 310.586.1111 or visit TheUpperWest.com. To find out more about LLS, see LLS.org.
